About Renfrew

Renfrew is a town 6 miles west of Glasgow, Scotland, in the historic county of Renfrewshire. As the county town, Renfrew once was a centre of local government for the surrounding area. Whilst the county remained known as "Renfrewshire", the focus of local government gradually shifted from Renfrew to its larger neighbour Paisley. The boundaries of the historic County of Renfrew remain for a number of ceremonial and administrative purposes.

Renfrew remains a vibrant area, with a busy high street, low crime rates and varied transport links to further afield. The historic industries such as shipbuilding and engineering have created a community close to the River Clyde and River Cart. The said transport links have developed Renfrew into a predominantly service-based area, including Braehead retail & leisure centre creating opportunity and expansion for the area.
